Money and looks?





Derek makes an excellent point that I experienced quite a bit in my own life - comfort is excellence's worst enemy.

When everything is not as good as you want it to be but still ok enough so to make you unwilling to lift more than a finger to make a change - that's when you can get stuck in one mediocre lame place for a really long time.

Napoleon Hill wrote in his famous book 'Think and Grow Rich' that the only way to keep a burning desire alive is to force yourself into a situation where you either 'make it work or perish'.

A bit of an extreme attitude no doubt, but I personally have been struggling with this for years, and I'm sure many others have as well. If you are comfortable, you just cannot muster the self discipline and the internal fire needed to make progress. It's just not there.

That's why when there's no internal pain, there needs to be an external source of motivation. It can be your boss that will fire you if you don't wake up in the morning, and it can be the fact that your friends are getting hot girls all the time while you're going home alone to wank. It's just too painful, and it motivates you to take real action.

And as Derek says - being rich or good looking is just good enough to get you the occasional hot girl and keep you comfortable, trapping you in the 'in between mode' which is so hard to get out of.

So if you're not good looking - you can see it as a blessing, because the drive it should give you will take you further than the good looking guy, which has his looks probably putting a damper on his psyche, unless he's a really extraordinary human being.

And if you are good looking - by all means take advantage of that, but find some other 'pain' in your life to help you get motivated to grow. Otherwise, the stagnation will come back to bite you in the ass sooner or later - and that's a personal promise. It's just the way life is.

Life is still brutal here lately, I'm still in the midst of a large php project and also currently on a family visit. However time to regularly update the site finally, and there will be updates every few days again :)

Newsflash: Tyler is leaving RSD


Tyler of Real Social Dynamics is leaving the company so to pursue a career in general self help.

First and foremost, good luck to Tyler on his new path.

How will this affect the dating advice industry, or the 'seduction community'?

In my opinion, RSD won't last much without its only real innovative force. The other instructors are just there for the ride basically, no matter how good they may or may not be in actually picking up women, they don't have what it takes to keep the company on top of the competition.

Which is actually good news because that's one less "worship me and transform to be like me or perish" pickup school.

As I wrote before, I discover more and more that the PUA's that simply give good seduction advice, rather than steer you into worshipping their personality, end up being much more useful to our ultimate goal, which is getting good with women as we are, rather than getting sucked into some kind of cult.

I've been thinking recently about additional ways to convey to you guys the quality of my favorite player Paul Janka's material, and how different his stuff is.

As you may have noticed already, I believe strongly in what Paul has to say, and that's why I'm going hard core on this one. He's the real deal, a true field player, he's brutally honest and he has integrity.

Derek Vitalio of Seduction Science - have you heard of him?

He's actually been around much earlier than most of the "community gurus" that you know so well these days, who actually rose to fame only after "that book" came out.

The good thing about Derek's material is that it has the good old-school attitude of giving you good seduction advice, which you can implement easily into who you are and into your OWN life.

I'm emphasizing the "YOUR" life part because my point is that you get to keep who you are in the process. This is opposed to some pickup 'gurus' that require you to transform yourself into being like them, in order for their advice to work.

This is why I tend to like the old school guys (like Derek, David Wygant or David Deangelo) more and more these days. Before "The Game" book came out, you could find people like Derek to give you cool advice that simply made you better with women - without over-complicating things and without guru worshipping.

Another thing that I like about Derek is that he's not loyal to one school of thought but rather integrates the material, concentrating on 'getting the girl' rather than on a specific method.

Derek is out with the 2nd edition of his Blissnosis program, which concentrates on sexual mastery in the bedroom. He's back from a year in south America and has a lot to say. Plus, he's finally on video for the first time (above).
