I've been following the exploits of the seduction community ever since I discovered Double Your Dating back in 2003 when I was 17. Needless to say I've learned from the teachings of quite a few "gurus." As pickup gurus go, Carlos Xuma seems like a pretty genuine and decent guy.

That said, I was really not impressed by his "Approach Women Now" program.

The Negative:
The information contained in this program is of a very basic nature. This is good if you're just getting started in the dating world, but for anyone who's been studying this stuff for more than a couple months there's nothing groundbreaking here. There's nothing here I didn't already hear from David Deangelo a year or two before AWN was released in 2005. I also found Carlos' verbal style to be a little stilted. Some of the examples he gives of approaches sound like something that would work for a 40-year-old guy if he was trying to pick up a 40-year-old chick at a wine bar. I'm not sure how well the cute 18-year-old chick in your sociology class would respond to some of these approaches. Another point of contention I had was with Carlos' monotone, droning speech patterns. He's got a good voice, but uses almost no inflection so it can be hard to listen to this program's 4 hour run time.

The Positive:
If you are a beginner and have never talked to a girl before, this is a good place to start. It focuses primarily on the first 3 minutes or so of an interaction with a girl, so if this is where you need the most help, this program might be worth the price tag to you. As I said before, some of his approach examples seem a little stuffy, but he includes quite a few examples, some of which are good, and you can probably find a few that will work for you. He also includes some exercises for getting prepared to approach which, again, would be helpful to beginners.

The Verdict:
In the end, I really don't think it's worth the $100 price tag. I will be returning it. If you need help approaching, there are programs out there that will help you with your all-around game that include the information in this program that will cost you around twice the price; well worth it when you consider the price of this program weighed against the limited content.
