Why all the
RSD dissing in the community scene lately? A few reasons.
1. All big name gurus have been through this cycle. Neil Strauss has been bashed to no end after his Annihilation Method marketing ploy and Mystery has taken quit? e a beating too as of late. Since RSD is now the most trendy, it's just naturally RSD's turn.
2. Many have been introduced to the community scene by the book 'The Game', in which Tyler was portrayed in a very negative way. He has come a long way since then (and actually, not the same can be said for the book's author), but first impression dies hard.
On the other hand, RSD owes a big part of its fame to the book, so I guess the book was a two edged sword for them.
3. Alleged dictatorship and tyranny in the RSD forum. Any competing companies are not allowed to be mentioned (posts are being automatically censored), threads are being closed way too often and way too quickly, and every now and then people are getting banned for mysterious reasons. It angers people.
4. Condescending attitude by RSD's executive instructors. Even if not generated on purpose, there's a vibe of 'we've been where you are, and we are now more enlightened than you. We're better, we've transformed, you haven't. We've even transcended beyond all other dating coaches'. Once again even if not generated consciously, it's hard not to feel this vibe. A
recent video by RSD ridiculing 'structured game' is but one small example.
5. RSD fans are behaving fanatic and
cultish. This, in my opinion, is not something orchestrated by RSD on purpose. Yet it angers people, because seeing people acting sheepish and stupid always angers. I tend to believe that the devoted passion for RSD stems in part from brilliant timing on Tyler's part with his 'natural game' campaign.
As people were futilely struggling to deploy over-complicated methods advocated by men with furry hats, Tyler comes in and tells them that they can actually be themselves, have fun, be manly rather than purposely act semi-gay, and get women in the process. People give it a try and it actually works better for them. And it's even fun, it's not a chore anymore.
Tyler's message wasn't even too innovative to the outside observer. But it was innovative in the context in which the seduction community operated so far, which was ALWAYS flowing with weirdness. Weirdness was almost a trademark of the community.
Tyler was not the first to defy the man with the furry hat, but he was the only one with enough perceived authority in the community to be able to do so and to have people actually listen. Any other person who tried just got "that's not what Mystery said to do" as a reply. To Tyler people were actually willing to listen. So they listened, and they liked what they heard. They felt renewed. Relieved. Liberated. No more homework. No more acting gay. Fun is the name of the game. And they actually got more results. It didn't fix all their problems but there was progress. They remain forever grateful and loyal. Tyler (et al.) is now their new savior.
6. The final reason is probably the most resounding one, and it may not be so transparent to the 'innocent student'. It has to do with RSD's business practices. RSD does not offer attractive commissions to their potential promoters. This means in simple words that promoting RSD does not bear any significant financial reward to seduction community portals, through which the community lives and through which community information is spread.
On the flip side, bashing RSD can pay off - the more people sway away from RSD the more they are likely to flock to dating coaches who do pay commissions to their promoters. Therefore the bottom line is that it pays off financially to bash RSD. The end result is that any bad opinions about RSD are more readily published on the web, because the websites who publish the information have little to lose in the process. On the contrary - the gossip drives in good traffic of visitors. Money talks.
That's my angle on the recent community gossip. Does RSD deserve to be bashed? I guess not. Their material is healthy (it's hardly THE perfect solution but then again nothing is), and their pricing is fair. This is all that should matter to the student.
You can enjoy the gossip but be sure keep your eyes on the ball, which is the content of the advice you're getting. If RSD's advice works for you then use it, and if it doesn't then don't. Plain and simple. You are loyal to your success, not to your guru. There is no such thing as "if HE said it then it must be true and I got it wrong". There is only one truth, and that truth is - whatever works for you.
